Several people have offered themselves as kidney donors, and I am humbled by their humility and generosity.
Kidney donors save over 11,000 lives each year, and each donor and recipient has a unique story to tell.
Kidney transplantation has been practiced in medicine for over fifty years, and with advances in technology and the process over the last several years, matching donors has never been easier.
One can offer a kidney for an individual recipient, or through a matching program called a "kidney chain." The kidney chain links up a "couple" of a donor and a recipient where the donor is not a match for his recipient, but is willing to donate to another recipient in need.

If you are willing to offer a kidney for donation, please contact Shelly at UAB, 205-975-9200. Give her my name, and please tell her "Worley said Hi!"
